STANDARD UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST ASSOCIATION RELIGIOUS EDUCATION RESOURCES
There is increasing amount of information on the Unitarian Universalist Association web page. This can be accessed by going to www.uua.org, clicking on Religious Education on menu at left, then clicking on to curriculum. This site includes listings by age groups and some by topics it was updated 4/02. The listings include some material that is produced outside of the Unitarian Universalist writers, and reflects some of the current trends in religious education philosophy, such as the focus on anti-bias material. The items listed here are generally available, but not all items that are available are listed here.
The Unitarian Universalist Association web site also gives Curriculum Mapping (www.uua.org/re/currmap ). The first 3 editions ( 1987, 1990, 1996) were in hard copy. This electronic edition was updated 1/02. This includes basic information about a curriculum, from goals to application of the Unitarian Universalist Principles, including strengths and weaknesses. Items available in Curriculum Mapping are noted in the Catalog, including the year that they are included.
The REACH (Religious Education Action Clearing House) packet has been published and send to congregations 3 times a year from at least January 1983 through April 1995. The August 1996 issue was the beginning of the twice a year cycle: August and February. Excerpts from REACH packets back to 1994 are on the web page. The REACH packet is being converted to electronic as of August 2002, and hard copies are available for $20/year, with editions in August and February. Contributions to REACH are requested. The Unitarian Universalist Bookstore Catalog includes a number of religious education curricula, including items published by the Unitarian Universalist Association, some independent writers, and the Beacon Press Discussion series books. The Bookstore Catalog is published mid-June. In looking for religious education material in the Bookstore Catalog, remember that

OTHER UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST ASSOCIATION RESOURCES
Historically, Beacon Press has published religious education materials over the years, from Beacon Series, New Beacon Series, Beacon Science Series. In 2001 the Beacon Press Discussion Guides for Unitarian Universalist Communities started for adult education. The books are available from Beacon Press and in the Unitarian Universalist Bookstore. The guides are free on line at www.beacon.org/uuguides . These guides are noted in this Catalog listings.
Periodically the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee produces curricula around specific topics. Along the lines of modern communication, the new series, UUs United for Social Justice (2002), is composed of study guides that can be found on the web at www.uusc.org .
The Church of the Larger Fellowship (CLF) has a religious education section, including a new web site. The focus is on resources that can be used by small congregations and families.
UNITARIAN UNIVERSALIST WRITERS
There are a number of religious education writers who publish items separate from the Unitarian Universalist Association. Some of these are noted here.
UU CARDS Unitarian Universalist Curriculum and Resource Developers is a consortium of religious education writers with a focus on publicizing the works of these writers. Information about the participants, the materials offered through UU CARDS, and opportunities for ordering are on the web site at www.uucards.org . UUCARDS is not an oversight organization; participants are responsible for the quality of their own work.
Religious Education Resource Catalog is this Catalog, which is compiled by Rev. Helen Zidowecki. See the Introduction for more information about this Catalog, which includes Unitarian Universalist-generated religious education material in the last 100 years. The Unitarian Universalist Religious Education History Group is in the process of collecting and compiling religious education materials from the previous centuries.
REC-Room electronic site (www.rec-room.org ) with various sorting mechanisms, some curriculum and other resources. It is intended to include inquiries and materials from religious educators.
REACH-L is an electronic list serve that involves a variety of people interested in religious education. Questions are posed, responses are given on and off line. This applies to general questions related to religious education programming, as well as specific resources and curricula.
