WELCOMING
CONGREGATIONS NETWORK
This section is being
done in conjunction with the Welcoming Congregations Task Force of
the newly forming Northern New England District of the Unitarian
Universalist Association (transitioned from the Northeast
District-Maine and the NH/VT District) in 2007-2008.
Information about the
Welcoming Congregation Program can be found on the web site of the
Office of Bisexual, Gay, Lesbian and Transgender Concerns of the
Unitarian Universalist Association at
http://www.uua.org/obgltc/wcp/wc1expln.html
The Welcoming
Congregation Task Force evolved from a gathering of people from
congregations that were certified as Welcoming Congregations or in
the certification process at the Northeast District Annual Meeting in
April 2006. Since then,
--A
list serve was developed to replace the Sunday Synopsis – a
summary of activities and notes and concerns send to participants
Sunday evenings over the summer in 2006.
--Welcoming
Congregation conferences have been held in November 2006 and 2007 at
Ferry Beach Park Association.
--Welcoming
Congregations have been noted in the District Directory, and reports
have been sent to the Board on a regular basis, and a report is
included in the Annual Reports.
